A One-Stop Resource For Small And Medium-Sized Business In Ontario
TORONTO - The Ministry of Small Business and Entrepreneurship officially launched its website today, creating a new resource for small business owners and entrepreneurs, who make up 99% of all business in Ontario.
"The McGuinty Government is on the side of business, including small business and entrepreneurs, who help Ontario prosper," said Minster of Small Business and Entrepreneurship Harinder Takhar. "The new ministry's website provides entrepreneurs with access to all of the tools and information the ministry has to offer in one convenient location."
The website offers a wealth of information for Ontario's small business community, from a new start-up to an established high performing firm, by providing connections to the people and resources that contribute to improved competitiveness and profitability.
Youth interested in entrepreneurship can visit the site to learn about programs that support entrepreneurship as a viable career option. Non-profit organizations can also find information on how the Government of Ontario is funding skill development projects through the Youth Entrepreneurship Partnership program.
The website also provides linkages to small business resources such as the Regulatory Registry, which contains information on regulatory proposals and how small business can help the government develop better regulation.
Entrepreneurs and small businesses can use the website to get contact information for one of Ontario's 44 Small Business Enterprise Centres, where they can meet one-on-one with a business consultant. High-performing companies seeking to take their business to the next level can find information on how to connect with one of the ministry's senior business advisors.
The Ministry of Small Business and Entrepreneurship was created to meet the needs of Ontario's growing small business community in May 2006.
