Jewellery with a conscience
Living Show Toronto as the only sustainable jewellery retailer, Ecstatic Accessory designs by Heather Frize proves it’s pretty being green. finds, Heather hopes to bring awareness to consumers. Given greener options, anyone can become an ethical fashionista by picking pieces that are eco-friendly rather than choosing ordinary mass produced jewellery. The new eco-friendly line of Ecstatic Accessories creates classic and fashion pieces suitable for both day and evening. By realizing every bit makes a difference, each piece is hand crafted by the designer herself in a sunny Bloor West studio. For seven years, Heather has run her business as ecofriendly as possible, and finally, with the emerging market for green goods, she is finally able to join her passion of jewellery with her passion for the environment. By creating accessories from sustainable materials, she is able to contribute a fresh eco-alternative to the fashion industry. Designing jewellery since before she can remember, Heather founded Ecstatic in 2001 after receiving the Ontario Summer Company Grant, awarded by the Ministry of Enterprise, Opportunity and Innovation. By finding inspiration through travel, abroad and in her own backyard, Heather enjoys the balance and repetition found in nature. You will find these qualities in all of her pieces, including Ecstatic’s signature piece, the coiled bracelet. She is able to customize designs and has a keen eye for creating the best look possible for clients. Becoming eco-chic has never been so easy. She meets with clients to design wedding jewellery for entire bridal parties. As the girl on the playground who picked up other kid’s litter and handed it back to them, Heather wants to do her part to help the environment. After researching far and wide for the most ecofriendly materials available, she is now launching her spring line full of great colours and lovely things. Come meet Heather in booth 1308 at the Beauty and Fashion area of the Green Living Show Toronto. If you miss the Green Living Show, Heather and her designs will be featured at The Clothing Show in booth 409 the following weekend at the Better Living Centre. 416.371.4010 www.ecstatic.ca Direct Energy Centre April 25 – April 27, 2008.
